Shooting candid street shots is a lot harder than you think. First it's important your subject(s) aren't aware of the camera because it changes the way they act. In this shot, my telephoto lens got me enough distance but I still benefitted from luck and shot fast before they saw me one instant later. The sun was low in the sky off to my left, which also helped provide more dramatic lighting. As you will see in many of my shots, I'm always looking for some kind of interplay, where the person(s) tell a story that you the viewer can make up any way you like.
